Here's a funny one... DSP member Shazzt informed me today that my new kit name "Little Buggers" might be offensive to those "down under." Apparently Bugger is a not-so-nice word there- and I think in England too. It's actually a swear word! Who knew??? So I will be changing the kit name to Little Buggies. bummer... I was so in love with the name Little Buggers too. oh well...

Aww - now I feel mean :-( Sorry Rene!! It is not a word that I personally find offensive - but I know that there are people who do. You may like to check out this ad from a few years ago that used the word almost exclusively. It is very funny - but if you scroll down the page you will see what a furore it provoked:

LOL Rene. I know I have a BLOG login...but at the moment have no idea what it is, so I'll post this an anonymous. I think it's a riot about the buggers name! I agree...it was so cute and such a shame it is offensive. What the F@#$%....can't they just deal???? (LOL...sorry...I couldn't resist that). Reminds me of the poster who said she was "Naughty cause she said a bad word at work". I wanted to ask if she only said it ONE time. Heck...it's only bad it you say it in EVERY sentence.
Cannot wait until these beautiful new kits make their way into the store. Your designs are just fantastic and as much as I LOVE our other designers too, it's wonderful to have a fresh new face on the design block!!! You ROCK!!!

It's true that the literal meaning of bugger is very offensive (maybe look it up in the dictionary)but it is also used as a term of endearment in Australia by some people. We say he or she is a little bugger, meaning the child is a bit on the naughty side but in a playful way.
I just love your designs Renee. Can't wait to but every kit you have made so far and I'm looking forward to more. I would love to learn some of your techniques too. Maybe in a DSU class?
